New Bedford Half Marathon

Welcome to our first blog entry and it is only fitting that we start with a run since it is one of the athletic activities we pursue the most.

A little over a week ago Mallory ran her sixth half marathon and I ran my first (non-virtual).  Have you ever had one of those days that you feel like the entirety of the universe loves you and your life is at an all time most awesome? It was like that. The sun was shining, the breeze was gentle and March in New England was treating us uncharacteristically well.  I felt so lucky with this amazing weather, a beautiful route with a lot of crowd support and running with my most favorite person. I was feeling good, prepared and smiled upon. As if this wasn't enough, I got another lucky sign in the form of my bib number...

It was a pretty smooth route, mostly flat with some great views of the ocean. We stayed together for the vast majority of the run and both got our best times, not including the Nike Women's Virtual Half Marathon in January where we ran faster just to keep from dying of freezing wind exposure.

Here we are coming in. I am still considering purchasing actual photos. They are expensive, but came out nice I think.

I was also pretty stoked to get a medal. I guess it was a little stupid on my part that I didn't know people get medals for running races, but that was the cherry on top of my day. All this, and a present at the end!
